Geocortex LDAP secured user authentication

Dear all,

 

We recently noticed that Geocortex silverlight viewer is sending the user passwords as plain text over the network in the user authentication process. Upon searching the forum I enountered an old link 'https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCForum?id=9066000000009WpAAI' that seems to be related to the same issue dated March 2014, but unanswered. I tried to change the ldap configuration to use the secured ldap connection and port but with no resolution to the problem. 

 

Please share if you have any clue or documentation reference to fix this issue. We are using Geocortex Essentials 4.3, Silverlight Viewer 2.4 with ArcGIS Server 10.3.1 on Windows 2008 Server Standard. Thanks in advance for your time and support.

  Hi,

   

  The resolution for this issue was to ensure that when using the Identity Server for LDAP connection to Active Directory that a secure LDAP port is used.
