    Hi Walter,

Did you ever get this solved?  If not, can you please post a screenshot of your data connection as well?

The other thing you might have some luck with, is examining the xslx datalink in the LA County demo site, and comparing it to your's (Check the Police Departments layer).

If all else fails, please open a support case, so we can assist you directly!

    Thanks,

    Danny

This is my first time trying data links and I get the same message about "unable to initialize...". Here is a screenshot of my data connection.

    Any ideas?

One step further. I defined a name for selected cells in the Excel file and was able to create the proper SQL through the wizard. However, I am unclear how the linked data are supposed to show up in the application. When I identify one of the locations that is supposed to be linked, no information is given in the feature details. Is there something I have to configure?

    Cheers.

Just to follow-up. I contacted support and Ali pointed me to the correct place in the documentation to find data link field tokens (https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/4.8/install-help/Default.htm#ge/admin/replacement-tokens.htm%23field-tokens) for use in the feature details and description. I knew it was something obvious!

    Hi Heather,

When you said you were able to create the SQL query through the wizard by defining an excel sheet name, did you use this excel sheet name after FROM in your query? I'm having the same issue.
