How to add attachments to a feature table

If figured this out on my own, and totally by accident. I downloaded the Attachment Manager Workflow from this site, which didn't help my problem because it's geometry feature class based, but it did do something unexpected. When I tried to get it to work on my table feature, and it obviouly failed, I was surprised to find that suddenly the "Attach a file or photo" command was now available in the Context Menu and was fully functional. After a bit of sleuthing around in the Attachment Manager Workflow, I determined that it was the "SetLayerVisibility" Activity that enabled it. It seems that table visibility is turned off by default which renders the attachments function disabled, but turning visibility on, at least via a Workflow, seems to enable it.

    Hi Randy,

Can you please provide a bit more detail on how you achieved this? Did you set the visibility of the "SetLayerVisibility" Activity in the workflow xml itself or in Essentials? We are simply interested in seeing / accessing attachments previously created on related records. Thanks so much.

    Hi Peter,

Randy was kind enough to submit his workflow to to us, which prompted us to discover that changing table visibility in the site xml has the same effect.

I've published the workaround here (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCkba?sub-nav=kba&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_ARTICLE_DETAIL&dc=Geocortex_Viewer_for_HTML5_kba&criteria=BESTANSWERS&id=kA3600000004Nls)  if you are interested.

    Hope that helps!

    Amanda
