Geocortex produces two forms of links for its applications (sites),
I observed that the geocortex produces two forms of links for applications (sites)
It might be either the form:
(http://localhost/q/Index.html?configBase=http://hp-zbookg3/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites/h24/viewers/v1/virtualdirectory/Resources/Config/Default) http:// localhost / q /Index.html?configBase=http://hp-zbookg3/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites/ h24 /viewers/ v1 /virtualdirectory/Resources/Config/Default
or
http://localhost/q/Index.html?viewer=h24.V1#
how one can decide either to get the first form or the second? How the geocortex do go for the first or the second?
Thank you
Best
Jamal

Jamal, there are a few different ways to reference a viewer's configuration: - directly to a specific viewer configuration file via "viewerConfigUri", e.g.: http://localhost/q/Index.html?configBase=http://hp-zbookg3/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites/h24/viewers/v1/virtualdirectory/Resources/Config/Default/Desktop.json.js
- to a specific site/viewer, but with the viewer selecting the appropriate shell (desktop, tablet, or handheld) depending on the user agent it detects via "configBase", e.g.: http://localhost/q/Index.html?configBase=http://hp-zbookg3/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites/h24/viewers/v1/virtualdirectory/Resources/Config/Default
- to a specific site/viewer, as with configBase, but with a much shorter alias, via "viewer", e.g.: http://localhost/q/Index.html?viewer=h24.V1 - where h24 is the site and V1 is the viewer. You can also configure an alias that doesn't use site.viewer, like: http://localhost/q/Index.html?viewer=myViewer

Thanks Jordan.
My point here is that the viewer lands in two forms (mentioned above) when started from geocortex manager. I wanted to know based on which settings the viewer decides to either land with first or second link.

Hi Eng.Jamal,
The first link (Long) is come by clicking on the view link as shown in the first screenshot:
_img_ alt="User-added image" src="https://latitudegeo--c.na53.content.force.com/servlet/rtaImage?eid=90760000000PEbJ&feoid=Body&refid=0EM60000000HYN0" _/_img_
The second one we got it by clicking on “Launch in Browser” as shown:

Hope this will help.
Thanks,
