    OMG! What a great upgrade for the default styles to filter and query!  I have been waiting years!  Excited to test the collboaration enhancement too! Also the "label function" is a nice upgrade too.

    Love the other subtle improvements like "adding or removing data from a selection"...the yellow box at the top explaining the tool directions is also a great UX imrpovement.  Makes it nicely obvious for the user.

    Upgrade was easy and smooth as well. We are using a Windows Server 2016 and were on the latest release of GE & HTML5. Not sure when you added the notes but good tip on the "REST\bin" lock.  Caught me a few times in the past and this reminded me to be safe and stop the Geocortex Core Service.  Also using ArcGIS Server 10.5.0

    Is anyone else getting a timeout error when trying to connect to Geocortex Core as part of an upgrade from GE 4.6 to 4.7?

    I haven't seen this on any of my upgrades John, but if you open a support case, we would be happy to investigate this with you!

    Thanks,

    John - I'm getting the same message - install/upgrade works (we're going from 4.6.2 to 4.7) but trying to launch post-installer gets the time-out error when connecting to Core.

    I'm getting timeout errors when running my upgraded application in the HTML5 Viewer.  It is likely to be related to this message that the IT Dept has just notified me about.

    Sophos Central Event Details for District Of Mission

    What happened: We detected ransomware trying to encrypt files.

    Where it happened: geocortex

    User associated with device: n/a

    How severe it is: High

    What Sophos has done so far: We have blocked the ransomware’s file-system access. If the computer is a Windows workstation, we clean up the ransomware automatically. If it’s a Windows server or Mac, you need to clean up manually.

    The timeout errors are due to Java running and Sophos (or some other security software) detecting it, thinking it to be ransomware.  To fix it an exclusion can be made in the security software.  An upgrade of Essentials may upgrade the Java version used, and so after an upgrade a new exclusion may need to be made.

    Just an update - for our situation with Post-installer timing out when trying to connect to Core, it seems like a pretty specific set of circumstances regarding our set up, and some rogue (self-inflicted) Analytics-related data ending up where it shouldn't be.

    We just upgraded and when initializing the viewer in 2.8, I'm getting the following:

    TypeError: Cannot read property 'async' of undefined

        at http://dev.maps.vermont.gov/ANR/Html5Viewer_2_8/Resources/Compiled/Framework.bundle.js:4:20149

        at Array.filter (native)

        at ViewerApplication.t._cacheAsyncModules ..............

    Any thoughts before I contact support?

    Hi Erik,

    We haven't seen that error after upgrading. Could you try deleting your browser's cache and see if that helps? Sometimes after an upgrade some data will be cached within your browser from the previous version, which causes some unexpected issues.

    Let me know if that works or not for you, if not we can look deeper into the issue.

    Hi Cory, clearing my cache/cookies didn't help. I've submitted a support ticket.

    Thanks.

    Turns out it was a reference to a former module 'rightclick' and 'customscale'

    Removing the references to these libraries from the desktop.json fixed the issue.

    Hi Sylvia - VicRoads is an active licensee of Geocortex Essentials; you can get access to product downloads and documentation downloads via your official reseller, AAM Group. Let me know if you have any issues or concerns! Thanks, Peter (prowand@latitudegeo.com

    Regarding the disconnect to Geocortex Core.  We had the same issue with just a fresh install on a VM in the Azure Cloud.  We uninstalled everything and reinstalled and was successful. So we recommend a repair/new VM/or uninstall if you see this odd issue.

    @Geocortex is there any log files we can send you or would they have been erased with the uninstall?

    Hi Dylan,

    Your logs should be preserved between uninstalls.  You can find them in the following directory by default:

    C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Data\Logs

    You can zip them up, and send them to me (dbriggs@latitudegeo.com), and I'll take a look at them.  If they're too large to email, please let me know via email, and I'll send you a file sharing link you can use.

    Thanks for letting us know!  I'm sorry to hear you had issues installing the first time, but I'm glad it's working for you now :)

    How do you get rid of the new Filter Layers dialog at the top of the Layers list?

    Hi Laura,

    I chatted with the devs about this, and I'm sorry to say you can't currently.  I've filed an improvement for this, and submitted it to the Ideas section here:

    https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCIdeasDetail?c=09a6000000008RsAAI&id=08760000000H00RAAS&categ=all&sub-nav=ideas&main-nav=essentials

    Please be sure to vote for it!

    Thanks,

    Hi Laura

    In the meantime you could try adding something like this into the custom desktop.css file.  This should hide the Filter widget from being displayed and move the layer list up to the top of the panel

    /*Hides the Filer Widget*/

    .panel-filter-widget {

        display: none;

    }

    /*moves the layer list up to top of panel*/

    .layer-list {

        top: 1.5em;

        }

    Cheers

    Chris
