Display line length

I have a workflow where the user can draw a line and then fill in a form with the information for that line.

 

I have been asked if there is a way to display the length of the line while it is being drawn. So, essentially, a real-time callout of the line length before the user double clicks to finish drawing.

 

Any ideas?

  Hi Michael,

   

  Supposing drawing the line is a step prior details form a possibility could be use “Run External command” with command name “MeasureDistance” and as parameter your geometry just before showing details form.

   

  Once user completes form “Run External command” with command name “DeleteMeasurement” can be used to clear measurement.

   

  Same logic can be applied for areas just using “MeasureArea” as command and area and perimeter of a polygon is shown
