Is there a restriction against using the shape field in a data link?

I am trying to create a data link between a point feature class with a one to many data link to a spatial view that has a shape field.  When I create the link without the shape field, it work fine, when I add the shape field in the relationship it no longer shows up.  

 

I also went to the rest page and check there as well and I get the same results, if the shape field is included it says 0 related records, and if the shape field is left off it returns results.

  Yes, it looks like there is a restriction.  I'll follow up to see if we can improve the documentation to clarify.  If you did have a case where you need the shape field in the data link, then I'd recommend posting in the Ideas section (https://support.geocortex.com/GSCIdeas?c=09a6000000008RsAAI&filter=1&categ=all&sub-nav=ideas&main-nav=essentials&page=1) and explaining the use case too.
