Global Search Only On Map Extent?

A client identified and then prooved to me that Global Search is only searching what is in the map extent.  I thought it was suppose to search all the data identified and enbaled for Global Search.

 

Is this a bug or a deliberate function?

  Hi,

   

  I cannot replicate this behavior using our sample viewer linked below. 

   

  http://gedemo-dev.geocortex.com/Html5Viewer/index.html?viewer=LA_County_.LA_HTML

   

  Open the viewer and stay on the intial extent. Do a search for airport and expand the Land Use results. No highlighted results will show on the map until you zoom out.

  Ok so it is suppose to search the whole map, not just the current extent.  That's what I thought.

   

  I'll have to look into why the current map extent is a limiting factor.  We tested it on multiple viewers and sites and got the same "filtered" results.  Will let you know what we find out.
