Use QR Code reader to add string info to selected point

I am using GE 4.5.1 and GVH 2.6.1.  I have a mobile site that is currently being used on iPads.  As crews install a new light, I would like them to be able to select it on the map, scan a QR code on the light fixture and be able to add two strings returned from that QR code (MACID and Serial number) to two fields in the database.  Has anyone done this before?  I'm not even sure where to start...

  You have checked the documentation in the HTML5 viewer admin guide on the BarcodeScanner module?

  Thanks Nico!  I hadn't seen that in there.  I'm sure I'll have questions later but that would be a great place to start!

  Just a quick follow-up question, is there any way to use the Barcode scanner without using the Mobile App Framework?  We don't need to use the MAF for anything else and it seems overly complicated to set up for iOS.  Just checking.  Thanks.

  You could try to run the CreateOrEditFeatureFromBarcodeScan command from a workflow (with a Run External Command activity). But no idea if this will work.
