Add Results & Subtract Results doesnt do anything
Hi All
I am just testing the latest version and having some issues with the Add Results and Subract Results tools. I identify features and they appear in the results list, however, when I select the Add Results tool and click on another feature, nothing is added to the results list. Similarly when I select the Subract Results Tool and click on a 'selected' feature nothing happens and that feature remains in the results list.
The tools are active as there is a check box on them, and the tool title changes to 'Disable Add Results'.
The layer is also checked on in the Indentifable Layers list
What am I missing??
(GXE4.8 and HTML5 2.9)

Was it working in the prior version? I have 2.8.2 and I gave it a try and it seems to work, though it took me a second to figure out how to use the new feature... 0 -
I skipped 2.8 and waited for 2.9, so I dont know if its a bug with this version or I am doing something wrong.
Is there a trick to this feature?0 -
It's not exactly intuitive. But assuming you have it set up to Identify, then do an ititial identify. If you then click on Enable Add Results (button now looks like it is checked to Disable...!?) and then click on a feature not already selected and it will add it to selection. Buttons are confusing, but it works for me. If you think it is really subtracting a feature and you click on a selected feature, then nothing will happen. 0 -
Hmmm thats what I am doing .... it seems that neither 'add to' or 'subract from' are working for me?? 0 -
Try clicking on both an already selected feature, and one that hasn't been selected. One of those should do something... Is your site public? I just tried it on my public site with parcels, and it works:

Thanks Mike
Nothing happens for me at all with those tools, no matter what I try.
I see your site using 2.8.2 works, so maybe its a bug with 2.9 then?
Unfortunately I am still in Dev so I cant share the site url0 -
To add to this, I ran a fiddler trace on the second Identity to either add or subtract, and the correct details are being returned, they are just not being added or removed from the Results List. 0 -
Hi Chris,
The demo 2.9 viewer Add/Subtract results tools work as expected.

I'd recommend trying to Add/Subtract results and then checking the viewer log. Hold CTRL + SHIFT + ~ to open the viewer log. Scroll to the bottom and see if there are any errors. Also, check the browser console in the developer tools window, accessible via the F12 shortcut.
Thanks,

Thanks Mike
I am at a bit of a loss as to what is going on, with my sites then? There are no log errors or anything showing up in developers tools.
If I create a blank/new site and add or import a service the it works fine, so its not a service issue. Also it doesnt matter which layer in the viewer I try I still cant get these tools to function in any of my existing sites.
I have done significant work to the css files of these site. However If I create a new clean viewer in any existing site it still doesnt work so I think I can rule out that there is any styling conflicts causing the issue.
The only thing I can think of is left for me to do is to completely rebuild my sites from scratch! I really dont want to do this as it will be a huge amount of time and effort.0 -
OK I am getting somewhere. It appears to be related to a wms service in my sites. I created a small site with a number of dynamic services, and WMTS basemap services. Add I have no issues, I added the wms image service in question and the above problem returned. Removed it and it was fine again ... so there is some issue about having a wms service in my sites.
I am using an internal WMS, but just to be sure I also added the one below and got the same results ... or lack of them

Nice detective work! 0 -
This has now been identified as a bug GVH-15920 0 -
FYI, for those interested, the fix for this issue will be released in GVH version 2.11.
As of today, version 2.11 is due to be released at the end of June.
