    Hi Lubna,

The database for Analytics is called elastic search.  It is the same document store that is used by Essentials and installed as part of Geocortex Core.  We don't recommend accessing the database directly, because when posting to Elastic Search, if you are not careful, you can overwrite your data, or break your cluster.

That being said, if you still would like to access it directly, please reach out to your reseller, and they can help you with this.

    Thanks,

    Danny

The Optimizer stores the collected information in the sfd file as shown in the screenshots below with some options in how to manage its data (schedules for archiving). In Analytics, we have no idea where the data is saved nor if we have settings like in the optimizer.

    Hi Jamal,

I'm afraid due to the way data is handled in Analytics, you are not able to export it.  That being said, it uses something called Data Condensing to compact old data so you can still view it in reports, without needing to be concerned about it taking up tons of space on your server.  Please have a look at section 3.10.1 in the Analytics User guide to see more information about how Data Condensing works in Analytics.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks,

    Hi Danny,

I installed the Geocortex Analytics on a different machine (not on the same machine of Geocortex Essential), so I suppose that the database of Geocortex Analytics is a part of Geocortex Core in the analytics server which is not used by Geocortex Essential. Am I correct? If yes, why I can’t access the database?

    Best,

Till now, I couldn’t know where is the physical location of the GA database, which format does it have and how to provide settings for it like we do in GO.

why this should be an issue, Lubna? Why do we need to install the GA in the same machine at which the GE is installed?

    Hi Lubna,

The fact that you cannot directly access the database has nothing to do with whether or not it's installed on the same machine as Essentials or not.  It has to do with the software that the database runs on (Elasticsearch).  As I mentioned in my previous post, please reach out to your reseller if you would like a hand with getting direct access.

FYI, you can install Analytics on a dedicated server, or on the same machine as Essentials.  Please consult the installation guide for more details on that.

    Thanks,

    Hi Danny,

I am trying to make the configuration of geocortex analytics backup by follow the steps in the administrator guide manual section 8 “Geocortex Index Backup Utility” and choose the file that I want to save the data on it, the below error is return (GA 1.4.3)

What might be the issue here?
