Hi Jordan,
With moving to Essenitals 4.7.1., GHV2.8.2 or 2.9, and Workflow 5, how they will support existing workflows in xaml format? Will it both xaml and javascript version? or there'll be a tool avaible to convert old version to new version? thanks.0 -
Hi Jordan,
Have the dev team managed to resolve Bug ID: Core-2477 ('Geocortex Core Service missing after Windows Server 2008 updates installed') in this upcoming version of Essentials?
Thanks.0 -
Hi Jack,
Current (xaml) workflows and the new (JavaScript) Geocortex Workflow 5 are very different implementations, so we will not be able to offer a tool to convert from one to the other. At a high level, they are conceptually equivalent: a series of activities are connected together to execute some business process; but because they are implemented with very different technologies (.NET vs. JavaScript) and are executed in different spaces (server-side for the current Essentials workflows; client-side for Workflow 5), many of the available activities are quite different, and -- in a few cases -- functionality available in Essentials workflows will not be feasible in Workflow 5.
With that said, we have no plans to deprecate Essentials or discontinue support for Essentials workflows. Geocortex Workflow 5 and Geocortex Essentials will be supported in parallel for the foreseeable future. If you are looking to take advantage of new capabilities, like the ability to take your workflows offline or to run them in Esri web applications, you should definitely take a look at Geocortex Workflow 5 (more news on that to come). If Essentials workflows currently meet your needs, we recommend that you to continue to use them.0 -
Lindsay,
No, the Products team is still unable to reproduce this scenario in order to determine how services are being removed in the first place. If you encounter this issue, the current workaround is to use the Repair installation option for Core. Also, to avoid one potential cause of this issue, we recommend rebooting the server after installing any Windows system updates, if prompted to do so.0
