Understanding Viewer Inheritance HTML5 Viewer

Hello

 

Could someone please explain to me when viewr inheritance is useful?

 

I understand site inheritance - you build a base site and then customised child sites that inherit from base

 

But what was the thought behind having modifications of an inherited viewer carry through to the source viewer?

  Hi Helen,

   

  Viewer inheritance offers similar benefits to Site inheritance. When you have a base Site that you want to build customized child Sites from, by using referencing/inheritance, Viewers will also be inherited. You can't customize the inherited Viewer, but it will inherit any changes made to the base Viewer; it will always be identical to the base Viewer. If you do want to create a customized Viewer in an inherited Site, you can still add Viewers.
