Force Basemap Switcher to Use Short Display Name

Essentials 4.8, Viewer 2.9.1

 

I have configured each basemap with a Short Display Name I am hoping to see in the HTML5 Basemap Switcher. I need to leave the Display Names alone for the present, as they are consumed by my custom Flex app.

 

Is there a way I can point the Switcher at the Short Display Name for the flyout?
