Add/Remove/Edit Visualization Classes and Honor Filters when Using Layer Visualizations
Add/Remove/Edit Classes:
When visualizing layers based on attributes, the HTML 5 viewer seems to select the classes based on the extent of the viewer. This can lead to users ending up with 12 classes that include some of the classes they want, some classes they do not want, and, in many cases, the list will exclude classes that users would like to visualize.
I would like to see three improvements:
1. Delete classes that don't belong
- Thinking a simple on-hover "x" next to each class would be ideal
2. Edit existing classes
- Change the attribute value they point to. Thinking of a search bar similar to the quick search you find when using filter/query tools.
- Change the label for each class so users can control how visualized classes look in the TOC
3. Add class
- Similar to editing the attribute value, users should be able to search and add classes
Honor Filters
When using the filter to limit the features displayed on the map, it seems like it would make sense to honor any active filters a layer might have when visualizing. I often see classes getting pulled up in in the visualization page that have been filtered out.
