Use "Data Linked" fields in a Workflow Query
Hi,
As the title suggests I have created a data link between a spatial layer and table that resides on a server in Essentials Manager. Is it possible to use one of the fields from the data-linked table to perform a query by using it in the "Where clause"?
Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,
If the data link is configured in Essentials, a direct query on the linked data is not possible in the tools. There are a few ways to deal with this.
If you just need to identify the data and not query it, you could configure a search table on the related data and this would allow the related data to be searchable in Global Search.
If you need the query to be performed in Essential's Manager default query tool, the best thing would be to create a relationship with your data in ArcMap and publish this as related data at the ArcGIS REST Endpoint. This related table can be then be added to Essentials Manager and queried directly from the Query Tool.
If you want the query to be on the data link and not an ArcGIS related table, you could create a workflow and use the "SearchTable Parameter Query" activity to make queries on the search table data. (https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/workflow/4.9/help/Default.htm#wf/help/wf_A_SearchTableParameterQuery.htm). You could then add the workflow as a tool and this would allow you to make a query on your data linked data.
I hope some of these suggestions will help you query your data.
Thanks,
