Has anyone had an issue where the Google Street view tool becomes unstable?
A week ago Street View started opening slowly and then when you move the marker the image in the Street View window jumps all over the place before finally displaying the correct view. We haven't changed anything. Anyone else experience anything like this? Thanks.

Hi Jeff,
Do you notice any different behaviour with other browsers? There is a known issue with IE and streetview for instance.

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the quick response. Yes, it is happening in Firefox too. The Pictometry tool does the same thing. When we move the marker the image in the viewer window moves around.0 -
I have also been having this problem,
In all browsers, Just as Jeff has described. It's Jumpy, sometimes does not display anything and in others it takes a long tome to load and eventually shows the correct location.0 -
Sorry to hear it Chris but also relieved that it wasn't an isolated situation on our end. Was it working fine before and just start doing this recently? I think this started on our end about a week or two ago. Until then we had no issues at all. 0 -
Hi Jeff and Chris,
If you want to pursue this I would recommend submitting a support ticket. Unfortunately the 3rd party maps are provided 'As Is' so it would likely require support hours to resolve. If you want to look into it yourself, I would check out a Fiddler capture of it and look at the timeline option, to see where the delay is.

We also noticed this in our viewers. When you move the google streetview icon around on the map the Google streetview images starts adjusting, it doesn't initially move to where you moved the icon, it moves the image several times at several different locations and takes a while to get to the location of the icon on the map. 0 -
It seems to be when we use the ESRI geometry service on sampleserver6.arcgisonlin.com that our Google Streeview images start acting wierd. When we use our geometry service we don't get the wierdness from Streetview. 0 -
Thanks Jimmy,
that did the trick for me, I simply added our Geometry Service and it seems to be working fine0 -
Thanks for the update Jimmy, we have seen quite a few issues lately with the sample server geometry service and we do not recommend using it, other than for testing.
Jeff and Chris, can you check your Essentials instance to make sure you are using your own geometry service? Essentials manager > GIS Services > Geometry tab

Bingo! I was going to suggest this as but couldn't find where the Street View tool consumes a geometry service. I couldn't figure out where to change it. I was looking though the json files. Street View looks to be working fine again. Thank you everyone! 0
