Heat Map from data from a Layer Catalog
Do Feature Heat Maps not work when the data is being pulled from a Layer Catalog?
I have a point feature class published as a feature service. When pulled directly into a map and heat maps are enabled, the heat map loads as expected. However, when added to a layer catalog and then pulled into a map, I only see the points and am not able to get the heat map loaded.
Any insight is appreciated!

In the Layer Catalog make sure you add the layer as a Feature Layer not a Map Service. Example, In Add Map Service, I have a map service CityStreeLights with two layers City Streetlights and Streetlight Poles if I select the City Streetlights layer then you will see the option to Add as Feature Layer. After added to the Layer Catalog you will see it in your viewer that accesses the Layer Catalog and once added to the viewer you should be able to do the Heat Map or Feature Clustering.0 -
Hi Jimmy...thank you for the response. I do have the layer added as a feature layer. We've discovered a potential bug. When point data is added from a layer catalog with heat maps enabled, the data is automatically added to the map as points. The user has to manually go to the Visualization Options, select Feature Clustering, and then select Heat Map. Heat Maps are not AUTOMATICALLY added when the data is added from the layer catalog. I am going to open a ticket with Latitude Support to see if this can be investigated. Thanks again! 0
