Modify/Create/Delete Network Folders Via Workflow

I have a workflow that searches a network folder to see if a sub directory exists and then if it doesn’t it creates it. If it does exist and the user wants to remove it, it removes it. This process is accomplished through a C# Script module in workflow. Unfortunately, this has stopped working recently and I was wondering if anyone has had experience in doing something like this and if they know who the "User" would be that would be accessing these folders via the workflow process. If I knew the correct user I might be able to set folder permissions correctly. Thank you!

  The user would be the app pool which you've configured to run workflows on the server.  By default this is called the "EssentialsAppPool4" IIRC, though you or your Essentials Instance admin may have renamed it or created an entriely separate one.
