How do I run a work flow on a selected feature?

I would like to run a workflow based on the already selected feature, like from a map tip, where i can use fields from that feature as an input into the workflow.

  Thank you Stefan, I don't know how I missed that. I know I read that section at least once yesterday but still never came away thinking that was what I needed.
