Measurement Calculations of Graphics (as they are drawn)
Hi everyone,
My company has used OnPoint for several years for web mapping. One particularly useful tool was the Measure Tool that would give you actual meaurements as you were drawing the graphic. You could stop drawing when you reached a certain area or radius measurement. It is a fairly fluid tool and gives you "real-time" measurements of your graphic on screen.
I've included a few screen shots to try and demonstrate how the tool works drawing the same circle graphic increases in size.

Is there a tool similar to this Essentials Manager 4.7?
Thanks,
Gary

Hello Gary,
The Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 has measurement tools that provide feedback if you hover your mouse over the map during drawing to display the Perimeter, Area, and Length of the current segment being created. There currently is no ability to define a maximum shape area; please add this to the Ideas section.
Thanks, Stefan

Hi Stefan,
I've added the Advanced Measure tools to the Toolbar (hopefully this is what you are describing above"). When I draw a line or line segment I can see the distance measurement appear dynamically when I stop moving the cursor. Is it supposed to do the same for drawing other graphics? I can only see the Perimeter and Areas of polygons once the drawing is completed. Should I be using another tool?
Thanks,

Hi Gary,
This only applies to the Line and Polygon options. If you temporarily stop drawing and hover your mouse, a popup box appears with the current location's measurement.
Thanks, Stefan0
