Is there a Workflows Sample Site for a WebAppBuilder app rather than GVH?

I can't get any of my GetMap, GetLayer type activities to work in my WebAppBuilder app. It would be really helpful to have example workflows for use in an app rather than GVH as I'm obviously misunderstanding some vital aspect of the inputs/outputs

  I've? been trying everything I could think of including the rest url. I definitely tried the layer name but mustn't have used the right syntax in the result before. Thanks!
