Set Map Extent based on User Login
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to zoom to a pre-set map extent based on user login role? For example, when a user, who is assigned to a "Northern region" role, sign in the viewer would automatically zoom to the northern portion of the map.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Gary,
You could provide specific users a custom URL to launch the viewer with, all the attributes are listed here -
https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/gvh/latest/admin-help/Default.htm#gvh/admin/viewer-urls.htm#URL_Parameters%3FTocPath%3DViewer%2520URLs%7CURL%2520Parameters%7C_____0
and the attribute you could use is either "center" or "extent".
If you wanted to do this automatically, based on the login used, you would need to create a workflow and run it on startup.

Hi Gary,
Yes, it is possible by capturing the username in your workflow, and then using ZoomToNamedExtent with the appropriate bookmark name as its parameter. Let me know if you'd prefer I try to post my workflow. Perhaps email me at gis at brucecounty dot on dot ca so I could send to you directly.
