On-Premise Workflow Installation
I'm installing Workflow 5 On-premise. Install screen prompts me for "Portal Type", "Organization", "App ID", and "Redirect URL" I intend to use Workflow 5 with the HTML 5 viewer, not with ArcGIS Online. What do I put in these fields?

Hi Ethan,
Workflow 5 uses ArcGIS identities to sign into designer and to save your workflows. You'll need to register it with either your ArcGIS Online organization or Portal so that you can author workflows and save them to your ArcGIS account, That won't stop you from being able to use your workflows in the HTML5 viewer. If your HTML5 viewer uses Portal or ArcGIS Online sign-ins, then I would recommend using the same organization/portal for your workflow 5 installation. Otherwise, use whichever is most convenient.

That second link has some screenshots and directions to guide you through the process of getting an App ID to use.

Ok, thanks. I picked a pre-existing workflow that I was trying on the cloud-based version. If I'm not using the ArcGIS online app, does it matter if I link to it? Will I need to create a different application for each workflow?
And then the error I got is "We could not find your domain. Please check that you have entered the correct URL."

Hi Ethan,
The app id that you register in the post installer is a specially configured app that lets workflow designer connect up to your portal for authentication. It should be different than a workflow "app".
You only need one "authentication" app, and then you should be able to open/run as many workflows as you want. If you can log into your on-prem workflow designer using the same identity as the cloud workflow designer, then you should have access to open and run all of your previous workflows there. They're saved to your ArcGIS account instead of the server.
For the error message, I would try restarting IIS on the server where workflow is installed. We've seen that error message come up a few times even when things are configured correctly, and restarting IIS usually seems to fix it when that's the case. If that doesn't do the trick though, you might want to open a support ticket so we can take a closer look at how everything is set up.

@Amanda What if you are not using Portal and have 2 organizations that need access to their own AGOL do you have to install this twice?

@Cattyann Campbell?, a Workflow (or Reporting or other 5-series product) installation will always be tied to a single portal or AGOL organization. If you have either two separate portals or two separate AGOL organizations that you need your workflow authors to connect from, then you would need two installations on separate servers.
