I'm having the same issue with the on-premise installation of Reporting5.Reporting Permission

Hi Stefan, No my portal account is a different user, but I do not get to the point where I am presented with a login prompt so I cannot enter my portal user. The Portal is local to my machine. I am not sure what you mean by point 2, in the post installer I select the Use Portal and enter my Portal URL, which launches and allows me to create the app

    Hi Chris and Frank,

Sorry for my previous message, was logged in as the wrong account.

This message indicates that the current user you are trying to access Reporting with does not have permissions.

    A couple of follow-up questions:

    1. Are you using the same user account that you used to create the app?
    2. Are you configured to use a local Portal instance or ArcGIS Online?

    Thanks, Stefan

When you are completing the Post Installer, does your license activate correctly?

For 2, that all sounds correct. Also, can you confirm that your server certificate is still valid?

Reporting 5 has accessed my portal credentials, but when I select "Approve", I get the "Permission Denied" message. I doubled checked that Reporting % is registered in Portal. request for Permission

    Hi Stefan,

I used the post installer to connect to my local Portal Instance. I logged into the Portal instance and created the App.

How do I start the designer with the portal user that created the app ?

    Stefan,

    1. Yes, I am using the same user account that I used to create the app.
    2. I'm using an local enterprise Portal

Also, I was able to install and configure on-prem Workflow 5 with the same local enterprise Portal with no issues.

    thanks,

    Frank

Thanks for both your information, that helps to narrow down what might be happening.

What is your current security configuration settings on your Portal instance and in IIS (Anon, Windows, etc.)?

    Stefan,

For Portal we're using credentials from only our existing enterprise users, allowing access to Portal only through https, and no anonymous access.

We're using MS Windows 2012 R2 IIS. Is there specific information from IIS that you need?

    Thanks,

    Frank

    Hi Frank,

Would you be able to temporarily enable Anonymous Access, then reload Designer and attempt to log in?

If that succeeds, could you revert the settings and reproduce the issue that you are seeing while capturing a .har file? You can follow the instructions outlined here: https://www.inflectra.com/support/knowledgebase/kb254.aspx and email the file to sschweigert@latitudegeo.com

This would be very useful for us to be able to narrow down the issue.

    Thanks, Stefan

    Hi Stefan,

    So, here's what i did...

    1) I enabled the IIS anonymous authentication for my portal ArcGIS WebAdaptor, and I was able to access the Report Designer using my enterprise login credentials

    2) When I disable the IIS anonymous authentication for the portal ArcGIS WebAdaptor the problem reoccurred.

I've sent the har file to your email.

Let me know if you need any additional information.

    Thanks,

    Frank

    Hi Stefan,

This is what IIS looks like

I still get the permissions error

I have noticed I get an error when I click the test button

It says that The given value is not a valid ArcGIS Portal URL, but if I click the Launch button the Portal opens

    Hi Chris,

The launch button allows you to easily open the URL and configure your settings in the Portal as needed.

    • If you are seeing the error when using Test, that indicates that your settings are incorrect in the Portal instance; make sure that the URL configure in Portal matches exactly the URL configured in the Post Installer.
    • If you are using HTTPS, double-check that the certificate used in IIS is configured correctly as well.

    Thanks, Stefan

We are getting the same error with on premise versions of Printing and Reporting, Workflow is working fine. Is there a way to get this working without enabling IIS anonymous authentication for my portal ArcGIS WebAdaptor?

We are using 10.6 version of ArcGIS Portal.

    Hi Adam,

Yes this is possible. You will need to install the Geocortex Web Adaptor Extensions to allow for the user identity to be properly sent; see these instructions: https://communities.geocortex.com/s/article/Install-the-Geocortex-Web-Adaptor-Extensions

    Thanks, Stefan

I have stumbled upon the same issue with printing and reporting on prem, I do have anonymous authentication turned on in in IIS though. Is there anything else I need to change to fix the permissions issue?

I am loathe to install the web adaptor extension as I believe this will remove the ability to sign in to the Portal through the Web Adaptor.

    Thanks,

    Harry
