Redundant, Load-Balanced Clustered Deployments questions
Hi, we have three windows servers and plan for the redudant,load-balanced clustered depolyment (https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/latest/install-help/Default.htm#ge/install/deployment.htm#Multi-Se%3FTocPath%3DDeployment%7CMulti-Server%2520Deployments%7C_____0) , could anyone kindly advise, in order to achieve high availability, should we install the Essential Manager and deploy HTML5 viewer on all three servers (which also have Geocortex Essentials and Core installed), or only on one server. The reason I asked is based on this guide (https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/latest//install-help/Default.htm#ge/install/geocortex-core-and-clustering.htm#Cluster_your_Instances_of_Core_across_Multiple_Servers%3FTocPath%3DDeployment%7CGeocortex%2520Core%2520and%2520Clustering%7C_____3) , it sounds we should deploy Essential Manager only on one server, and inherently can only deploy HTML5 viewer via the post-installation wizard on one server. However, to me it sounds like a high-availability environment with single point of failure? On the doc centre and knowledge base I couldn’t find information about deploying HTML5 viewer , mobile viewer, and web viewer for multi-cluster environment. Any advice would be appreciated. cheers..

We just set this up and used the recommendations of a single install of Esentials Manager.
We deployed the HTML5Viewer to the first server, then manually copied the folder to the other 2 servers' web directory (wwwroot in IIS). Then we added it as an app in IIS and set the app pools to Essentials.
You will still have to update anything in the IIS/HTML5Viewer folder on each machine manually (outside of Manager).
Only issue we have is when we use Essentials Manager from a different machine. The load balancer will keep redirecting after we authenticate and we have to keep manually changing the URL. But once you're in, it works great.0 -
Thanks Dan. I thought about if I need mannually deploy the html5 viwer too after reading the installation doc, but I wasn't 100% sure. Good to hear that's the way to go. Wish geocortex document could have more explicity detail with regard to multi-instance depolyment. 0
