Is there a way to only allow for attribute editing on a feature class in a feature service?

We would like to have the user to only have the ability to update attributes, but not geometry. What is the best way to do this?

  We typically use a form for any attribute editing, since it allows the admins heavy control over user input. I'm not sure how you would modify the builtin tools for this, if that's what you're after.

  You could modify the ArcGIS service (or hosted feature layer) to allow only attribute editing.
