Issues with Chrome and instant search hints

We recenty installed Geocortex and are in the process of migrating sites to Geocortex.  I have noticed that using the viewer in Chrome or Firefox, the search widget does not behave as it should. When typing in the search box, as soon as candidates appear, the textbox appears to lose focus, forcing the user to click the text box again, then continue typing.  This only occurs using Chrome and Firefox, it seems to work in IE.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?  I suspect it might be the version of the viewer template I'm using?  I have searched other sites that use Geocortex and some work while others do not.  I am using viewer template 2.12.0/ GeoCortex Essentials version 4.11.  We don't have our site up yet, but here is an example, type in 1401 in the search box:
