Mailing labels report fails with SSL Security error on Microsoft Data Link

I learned recently from a user that the 5160 Mailing Labels report fails. 

 

In Report Designer today I have tried to troubleshoot, and noticed it still points to an old database server. So in my attempt to point it at the proper server, setting up a data link and trying to pick the database on the server, I get this error:

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (SECCreateCredentials()).]SSL Security error.

 

This makes me suspect the problem may have began when I upgraded the server to TLS 1.2. I was unaware anyone actually used that report, but know I know. How can I make the report respect the upgraded security? Or what is the proper way to make a report depend on a different database server?

 

I will appreciate any help.

  All I needed to do was update rpt.DataSource on the Script tab and change it to use the new view I had created instead of the old one.
