On Premises Workflow Designer Security

Permanently deleted user

So after installing Workflow designer on prem, it appreas that anyone with access to Portal (ArcGIS Enterprise) has access to Workflow Designer regardless of the security that I put on the registered application. Anyone that can authenticate to the Portal can access designer. How do I lock it down? Documentation says

But its not even shared any all user can access it.

    @Tyler Barras? What do your Share Settings look like on the Portal Item that registers your Workflow Designer? Ours looks like attached. Make sure that your organization is unchecked and it is only shared with a Group of whom you want access.

    Hi Tyler,

     

    The designer does not currently verify the user's access to the sign-in app. We have this fixed for the upcoming 5.11 release which is due out on June 17th.

    Good find. This is a known bug. Bug 29117: "Able to access Designer using an Identity that does not have access to the Designer Portal app". It has been fixed in development and can be expected to be resolved in GXW (Geocortex Workflow) 5.11. GXW 5.11 is targeted for General Availability June 17th.

    How to configure a portal group so that only publisher members of that group have access to use on-premises workflow 5 designer and make workflows

    AFAIK, you cannot use a subset of a group. You would most likely need to create another group of only the Publisher Members.

    @k l? The fine gents at @DDS Technical Support? have it. You cannot manage permissions at the sub-group level, it is secured by group. Any member of the group securing Designer are able to edit and create workflows so you should create a group containing only the identities you want to allow access, per the AGOL group creation docs DDS noted.
