Making search table query work with COALESCE or CONCATENATION function

I asked something in this post (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=essentials&#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&id=906f20000000s3AAAQ) about a search table query not working with a field made with COALESCE in a view.

 

I've also tried concatenating the FirstName and LastName fields in the WHERE clause and using the @Name parameter against that, but that's not working either. A couple posts recommended different ways of formatting this, but no joy.

 

I guess I just need confirmation about whether or not this is a known limitation. If it's supposed to work on a field even if it's made with COALESCE, then I'll keep trying to make it work. If this is a known limitation I can always speak with my supervisor about trying something else. Thanks!
