Active Reports Version Functionality

When looking at versions for the currently used Active Reports engine, it seems that Essentials is working on version 5.3.1436.2. (Active Reports .NET 3) Does anyone know if it is possible to use a newer version of Active Reports, rather than what is shipped with Essentials? I'm sure there would be modules that would need to be loaded but was wondering if this was even an option.

 

 

Reporting 5 is nice but with some of our older sites, user logins and workflows, using the Reporting 5 and Arc GIS Online approach to the login and file storing is not an option at this time. It would be nice to have an upgrade to a local report designer since our organization is willing to pay for it.
