Add Layers Tool
Looking for some help with the "Add Layers" tool.
It is my understanding that I should be able to add external layers via a URL which are shared openly by other organizations OR my own. (Open data as an example)
As it stands, anything external I am unable to add anything I get "No Results To Display" here is an example from an Open Data site: https://maps.durham.ca/arcgis/rest/services/Open_Data/Durham_OpenData/MapServer/31/
Anything internal I can access the layer but when I try to add the layer I get "An unknown error has occurred"
Has anyone experienced this before, OR are there specific settings in the Admin site that I have to allow for this tool to work? Any comments would be great!

Hi,
Where you able to fix this issue? I tested this service with Essentials 4.12 and I was able to add this layer to my test site using the Add Layers Tool. Did you configure the Service Connection in Essentials Manager to allow searching in the viewer (Service Discovery Settings)?
Thanks,

Hi Mike! Thanks for following up on this case. Well, first of all, it appears that I need to add a map service to the Essentials "Service Connections" configuration in order to add layers from them using the "Add Layers" tool in the viewer. Otherwise, I am unable to.
However, yes, I did discover that I need to select the appropriate radio button level under the Service Connections GUI-- that is map service or layers level, versus Manager default level. Is that what you were referring to?
Thanks,
