    Hi Alice,

This is possible by first selecting the layer from the Layer list and then selecting the '>' symbol to see the layer actions available for the selected layer, if labelling is available then you can then click 'Toggle labels' to turn the labels off. Note this option requires labels to have been added to the map before the map service is published.

Alternately, if you wanted to make this tool easier to find / access you could create a duplicate layer in your mxd displaying just the labels and then publish this map service. Then using a simple workflow you could use the 'Set Layer Visibility' activity for the relevant layer so that users could turn off the labels with one click and you could then add this workflow to the toolbar for users to access, and if needs be hide the layer from the layer list to avoid confusion.

    I hope this helps,

    Hi Harry,

Thanks for your reply! I got the toggle labels functionality working now. I needed to enable dynamic layers in my map service. That's what I was missing.

    Thanks

Is there a way to configure the layer in Essentials Manager so labels are turned off? I am consuming a service from an external source and they have labels showing, but I do not want them in my viewer.
