Run workflow from Popup WebAppbuilder

I would like to have the ability to run a workflow from a popup in webappbuilder (like it is working in the HTML5 viewer).

  Did you ever get a solution for this? I want to run a workflow in WAB, from the Splash screen widget's code block in the background of the app.
