IIS "CorsModule" conflict with GeoCortex Cors Module

We recently installed the IIS Cors Module on our IIS server that is also hosting geocortex essentials.  Once we did that, the geocortex sites failed with HTTP 500 errors.  Investigation highlighted that Geocortex has its own "CorsModule" that conflicts with the IIS "CorsModule".  Trying to list the modules on the geocortex rest application returned a web.config error (I would post a screenshot, but the limited image upload tool made it just about impossible):

 

cannot add duplicate collection entry of type 'add' with unique key attribute 'name' set to 'CorsModule'

 

 

To fix this, we renamed the IIS Cors Module to "CorsModuleIIS" at the root server level.  Our other applications co-located here (that required the module) function as well as the geocortex sites (as far as we can tell).  So far no ill impact.  Just wanted to post for the community in case you run into similar issues.

  Thank you! The solution for us was to download the IIS CORS Module from the Microsoft site, and then use the *.msi to actually uninstall it. The site is located at https://www.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/iis-cors-module.
