Send Email activity capable of being triggered by a feature being updated?

If using the builtin feature editing from Geocortex, you'll need an event listener to fire up your workflow on editing. A simpler tool would force users to update within a workflow and then send your emails after the feature updates complete. Yes, you'd be using the Send Mail activity in either case.

Thank you Zack for responding to my question. My idea is to integrate survey 123 into geocortex, survey 123 would act as the user interface and then geocortex workflow would be triggered by the feature class being updated (by user in survey123) and send an email response. Is this possible to trigger a worflow when editing is happening outside Geocortex?

If editing has to be done inside geocortex to trigger a workflow, I am wondering if this would be better suited for Geocortex Mobile. Does Geocortex Mobile have the capability to support this type of workflow (send email activity)?

Instead of Mobile, could I create this workflow and add it as a widget in WAB, could that be done?

I don't know how to initialize a 5-series workflow outside of Geocortex or WAB, but I do know that you can run an Essentials workflow hosted in an Essentials site with a web request to its endpoint. You could use an essentials workflow as a How you go about doing this from Survey123 is beyond me, I'm not familiar with the platform.

You could also run a scheduled task on the back end that sends an email based on some sort of "orders" table every x minutes, which you could probably update from your survey123 app with whatever is necessary for your email.

Thanks for all your info, it has been very helpful.

Just to clarify, are you saying that the only way to initialize this workflow would be that the user must be editing within geocortex?
