Open a URL in a new tab

Within WF5 and Web App Builder - it would be nice to be able to have widget that would open a URL when activated. My workflow is I have a Geometry Picker that queries a feature and builds a URL based on that features attributes - I would like to have the ability to automatically open that URL when the user clicks on it. My work around is creating a TEXT hyperlink on the display form - but this requires the user to click the feature and then click the URL, I would like to get this streamlined. Thanks!
