Esri's World Geocoding Service stopped working with Geocortex Essentials

Hello,

 

 

Just a few weeks ago we noticed that a Workflow we wrote that uses Esri's World Geocoding Service has stopped working.  Initially we thought the service was temporarily down, but it has persisted ever since.  We also cannot add the service via the Geocoding Service Wizard. 

 

 

The URL we were using:

• http://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/GeocodeServer

When we attempt to add it, we get this error:

• An error occurred while connecting to the service: "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.". The connection settings may be incorrect, or the service may be temporarily unavailable.

According to the online documentation:

• "Essentials supports the ArcGIS Online World Geocoding Service. The URL is: http://geocode.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/GeocodeServer"

We also tried using https, but still received an error message when trying to connect.

 

We are using Geocortex Essentials version 4.13.

 

 

Does anyone know why the functionality/support would have stopped working?

  I guess this is because you are using a http URL Try changing to https.

  Yes, TLS 1.2.
