Mimic Access Control from Essentials in Web

Hello,

In Essentials I could access secure services by providing credentials to ArcGIS Server.  Those services were then exposed through Essentials and visible to whatever audience I chose.  Is there similar functionality in Web?  I don't want to have to have all my portal items as public and therefore discoverable just because I want to show them in web.  Is this possible?

  The proxying of credentials was always a grey area.

  Changes in the Esri landscape, and changes in the worldwide security landscape move this into the 'unsafe' category.

  Additionally, unlike Essentials, VertiGIS Studio Web is a 100% client side, static content app (there is no server connecting to services on your behalf, the client connects directly.

  All these add together to: you can't get there from here.
