VertiGIS Studio Web Deployment options

Can someone please provide more information about the staged deployment capabilities for VertiGIS Studio Web?  We are just starting to use Web and have a Dev and Prod environment.

This was from the VertiGIS Studio Web FAQs "Staged deployment capabilities, making it easy to transition apps through development stages 
(e.g. dev, test, staging, production) to support enterprise deployment patterns"

  We have some documentation on Architecture, as well as how to Deploy an App. The second link goes into detail on how this is configured and the assorted options.
