In the Web Designer their is a distinction between Components and Services.
What is the difference between them? What is the definition of a Service? Why was this term chosen?

For Web Designer point of view, a component is a reusable application building block that provides a user interface. A service provides background functionality that is not associated with any specific UI element.
The term was chosen as it is commonly used in software architecture.1 -

Additionally ... you can have multiple of a component, where a service is a single entity.
