The sewer and manhole areas are created automatically during the entry of pipeline sections and manholes. They are only displayed when the corresponding attributes (such as width) are defined in the attribute mask. It can happen that these areas are missing either after the migration from another GIS system to GEONIS or during the unclean deletion of pipeline sections and manholes. However, with the GEONIS batch functions, this problem can be corrected quickly and easily.
The GEONIS batch functions are located in the main menu in the “Tools” tab.
Workflow to correctly rebuild the sewer and manhole areas.
Sewer areas
- Delete contents of table SWS_SWER (= layer “Sewer (S)”)
- Validation/Batch function → Structure (areas) → Create missing entries: Sewer areas
- Validation/Batch function → Structure (areas) → Create geometry: Sewer areas
- Validation/Batch function → Batch attribution → Pipeline sections → Update sewer area with pipeline section attributes
Manhole areas
- Delete contents of table SWS_SEWER_STRUCTURE, CLASS_STRUCTURE = 1 (= layer “Manhole (S)”)
- Validation/Batch function → Structure (areas) → Create missing entries: Manhole areas
- Validation/Batch function → Structure (areas) → Create geometry: Manhole areas
- Validation/Batch function → Batch attribution → Sewer node → Update structure (area) with attributes of the sewer node
For a correct representation, the following attributes must be filled:
for the sewer area:
for the manhole area:
