Essentials REST endpoints returning a 404 error, caused by a URL redirect – VertiGIS Support

Solution:

If a URL redirect is configured using the IIS Application Request Routing plugin and this plugin is then uninstalled, the redirect may still need to be manually removed within the IIS applicationHost.config file.
By default, there are backups of this file at C:\inetpub\history , in folders named CFGHISTORY_XXX (where the XXX is some number meaningful to IIS).
Edit the most recent backup file by removing the rules, then copy to C:\windows\sytem32\inetsrv\config and restart IIS.
