Requesting Safeguard For Accidental Cable Deletion When Physical Paths Exist
BeantwortetWhen a user deletes a cable in ConnectMaster, the warning dialog boxes that appear following the "Delete" command do not warn the user if Physical Paths are in use for that particular cable.
1. When deleting a cable with no Connections AND no Physical Paths in use, the user sees the following (1) dialog box:
2. When deleting a cable that has Connections but has NO Physical Paths in use, the user sees the following (2) dialog boxes:
3. When deleting a cable that has BOTH Connections AND Physical Paths in use, the user sees the last 2 dialog boxes, followed by this one:
However, in the third case where the cable has BOTH Connections & Physical Paths in use, clicking "Cancel" on the third dialog box does NOT cancel deletion of the cable. The only way to halt the deletion of the cable is to click "No" on one for the first two dialog boxes (neither of which warn the user that the cable contains Physical Paths that are in use).
Proposed Ideas:
- The first two dialog boxes could be combined into a single cancelation warning dialog box that warning the user whether connections, physical paths, or both are present within a single dialog box.
- The third dialog box could be modified such that clicking "Cancel" actually does abort the deletion of the cable.
- BOTH of the above ideas are implemented together to prevent any possible user confusion.
