We are excited to present a significant technological advancement in our Studio Mobile 5.32 release: the transition to Esri Maps SDK for .NET 200.x (MAUI). This update reflects months of focused work, including valuable feedback from our Early Access Program, ensuring we are delivering the most optimized solution for real-world use cases. This release marks a pivotal upgrade in our technological foundation. By transitioning to the Esri Maps SDK for .NET (MAUI), we enhance performance, align with the future of cross-platform development, and remain deeply integrated within the Esri ecosystem. This ensures that our app is ready to meet current and future needs, while providing long-term reliability, innovation, and performance for our users.

Adopting the Esri Maps SDK for .NET (MAUI) ensures we remain fully aligned with Esri's roadmap and ecosystem. This deepens our integration with Esri's robust geospatial tools and services, unlocking even greater opportunities for leveraging their cutting-edge features. By staying aligned with Esri, we ensure seamless integration with ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and other Esri services, keeping your geospatial workflows efficient and connected. Furthermore, Esri’s commitment to their SDK guarantees long-term support, enabling us to adopt the latest geospatial tools and innovations without any compatibility concerns.

• New Feature Opportunities: This transition opens the door to more advanced features in future releases, including improved offline support (e.g. offline tracing). Additional capabilities in this API for things like indoor positioning and geotriggering will be investigated but are subject to a business case ROI assessment.

Avoiding Future Issues:

Without this update, relying on older frameworks would eventually lead to performance bottlenecks, potential security vulnerabilities, and challenges in integrating future features. By making this update  our customers will not be affected as Esri's ArcGIS Runtime 100.15 moves to extended support in August 2025 toward retirement in September 2027.

New Features and Bug Fixes

New features include a streamlined logging system, reducing unnecessary Info-level logs and removing clutter related to registration counts. Additionally, the removal of bookmark limits in VSM apps now allows users to access all bookmarks, which is essential for users relying on quick location access.

On the bug-fix side, several critical issues have been addressed, improving the overall stability and functionality of the platform. Notable fixes include resolving URL reuse in workflows, map freezing issues on Samsung devices, and addressing UI and functionality problems across both iOS and Android platforms. These enhancements ensure that the app continues to meet high-performance standards and provides a smooth user experience across multiple platforms.
