Drawing Markup on 2D view of map

I'm new to VertiGIS studio.

I've noticed that the drawing tools in the “Web GIS - Default” application only allow you to draw on the 3D view of the scene.  However I only need the 2D map loaded (I've removed the 3D map), and in doing so none of the drawing tools now work.

Is there a drawing layer I'm missing somewhere? How do I get the drawing tools to work in the 2D view of the map?
