Hide some attributes when editing a feature
Short of building a custom UI to edit the feature attributes, I'd like to use the built-in user interface. I need to hide some attributes fields from being edited. I already figured out how to hide them with the identify results, but once the user clicks on the “Edit” button, all the fields appear.

I suspect I need to use the edit.display-update-feature command and apply custom DisplayUpdateFeatureArgs, including setting the “attributes” property. However, I don't have a clue what this means:
Can someone give an example of what layout XML attributes are and how one would define it?
Also, why is the property type “unknown”? I would expect it to be something (string, array of strings, JSON object, etc.)

If it is being controlled by an AGOL web map, controlling field editability there may do the trick (I use classic web viewer, configure popup>configure attributes).
