    Hi Berend,

Thank you for your question about using Azure storage for the Shared Storage functionality in VertiGIS Studio Web.

As you found in the VSW documentation, the Shared Storage Service notes that any S3-compatible storage is sufficient.

I understand your IT team's preference for Azure, given that your software is already hosted there. While Azure Blob Storage doesn't natively support the S3 API, there are solutions available to make it S3-compatible:

    1. Use Azure Blob Storage with a third-party S3 proxy: You can set up Azure Blob Storage and use a tool like MinIO Gateway for Azure to provide an S3-compatible interface. This allows you to leverage Azure's native storage while maintaining S3 compatibility required by VertiGIS Studio Web.
    2. Consider third-party S3-compatible storage solutions that can be deployed on Azure:

For a more detailed guide on setting up these solutions, I recommend consulting with your IT team or a cloud infrastructure specialist familiar with Azure. They can help you choose and implement the best option for your specific needs while ensuring it integrates smoothly with your existing Azure infrastructure.

Remember to thoroughly test your chosen solution with VertiGIS Studio Web to ensure compatibility and performance meet your requirements. If you need any further clarification or assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

I would like to echo this request. Native Azure support would be highly valuable. We are currently relying on MinIO, which has introduced numerous issues that have been challenging or even impossible to address. AWS is not viable for our deployment, as our entire environment is hosted in Azure.
