The Number element not working as expected

I have a couple of “Number” elements in my form that are becoming annoying.  

- is there a way to add a ‘default’ number?  I have it set in the properties but it's just not showing.

- is there a way to enable/disable the “+” and “-” that show up beside it??

In our current application I can use a drop down to allow the user to choose the number they want.  I tried to replicate this using a Drop Down List, but I cannot convert the selected number to an actual number when it's in a drop down.  Is there a work-around for this??

  Here is a screen shot of what I mean….I have the default value set, but when the form opens up in Mobile, it's empty.

  OK, so as a work-around it seems like using the elements LOAD event to insert a “Set Form Element Property” will allow you to add a ‘default’ value.

  Just doesn't seem to be working in the properties of the element itself.
